Where the mountains fold you in

A family home turned homestay, a few minutes from Mall Road. Five room types, every room with its own balcony or terrace, all looking out at the same thing: the Himalaya, changing colour all day.

  • 5 room types, 250 to 650 sq ft
  • 3 min walk to Library Chowk
  • Hosted by the Goel family since 2023

Folded in

A homestay that runs like a hotel, and still feels like someone’s home

The Goel family opened Nature’s Fold in 2023, bringing eighteen years of hospitality with them: the service of a good hotel, in a house where the family is actually around. The reason people come back is the setting, a few minutes from Mall Road, with every room opening straight onto the Himalaya as it changes colour through the day. The family lives on the property, so there is always someone to plan your day over tea or point you to the right walk.

The rooftop

Why people stay a third night

A whole lawn on the roof, and the Himalaya laid out in front of you with nothing in between. It holds the morning sun, then the last light on the ridges in the evening. There is a swing, plenty of seating, a barbecue, and a bonfire on request if you book it ahead, board games for a cloudy afternoon, and a corner for the children while everyone else sits back with the view.

Dining

Hot food, straight to your room

A menu sits in every room. Order any time from breakfast to dinner, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, South Indian, Chinese, tandoor and North Indian, and eat in your room, out on your balcony, or up on the terrace with the valley in front of you.

For solo and women travellers

A stay you can arrive at after dark

Solo travellers and groups of women make up a real share of who stays here, and they tell us the same two things: it felt safe, and it was easy to reach. The property is a few minutes from Mall Road, so you are never far from people and lights at the end of a journey. The family lives on site, so someone is always reachable, with CCTV on the common areas, a caretaker through the day, and power backup that keeps the lights on when Mussoorie’s supply drops. Groups of only men are not accepted, which is a deliberate policy rather than an oversight.

Two of the notes guests have left

“The room was clean and spacious with attached balcony. You can see the Mussoorie sunset from there. Mall road is walking distance, hardly 3 min from the room. I was there on a girls’ trip and I felt safe.”

Shraddha D., May 2024

“It’s very near to the Mall road and hence more comfortable staying there as a solo traveller. The host couple is very warm and affectionate and also very prompt in responding.”

Sarika B., solo traveller, May 2024

Parking, the walk up, and accessibility

There is no car parking at the property. If you arrive on a two-wheeler, a scooter, bike or scooty, we can help you park nearby, so just ask.

There is a short uphill walk of roughly 50 metres from the road to the door, and no lift inside the building. It is part of why the views are what they are, and it does mean the property is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair. We would rather you knew this before you booked than after you arrived.
